Step-by-Step Guide
Correct Peptide Reconstitution
Our peptides are delivered as lyophilised (freeze-dried) powders. Before use in research, they must be carefully reconstituted with bacteriostatic water.
1. Prepare a Sterile Environment
Begin by thoroughly washing your hands and donning sterile gloves and safety goggles. Your workspace must be impeccably clean. You will need: lyophilised peptide vial, sterile insulin syringe, bacteriostatic water, alcohol swabs, and protective equipment. Sterility is critical for accurate and reproducible research results.
2. Peptide & Solvent Preparation
Allow both the peptide vial and bacteriostatic water to reach room temperature before use — cold solutions can interfere with reconstitution. Remove the central metal cap from the peptide vial and disinfect the rubber stopper with an alcohol swab. Repeat for the BAC water vial.
3. Adding the Bacteriostatic Water
Draw the required volume of bacteriostatic water into a sterile syringe. Insert the needle into the peptide vial at a 45° angle, allowing the water to run slowly down the interior wall. This minimises foam and bubble formation, ensuring even dissolution. Gently swirl — never shake.
4. Storage of Reconstituted Peptide
Store reconstituted peptide solutions at 2–8 °C (refrigerator). Solutions are typically stable for up to 28 days when refrigerated. For long-term storage, freeze aliquots at −20 °C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles as this degrades peptide integrity and bioactivity.
